Robert Paterson gave an excellent talk at short notice on the 2011 to 2015 project to eliminate rats and mice on South Georgia. This project was privately funded and involved 3 helicopters and 39 project workers including 4 pilotes. The project cost £10 million and in 2018 the Island was declared rat and mice free. Robert was captain of the support ship, “Sir Ernest Shackleton” of the British Antartic Survey.
