Date: Viking
Description: Small lead weight, which has been recycled from a Viking brooch. The top of the weight is a section cut from a Viking Tortoise brooch. This type of weight was made in Scandinavia.
Origin: Found in one of two longhouses, the remains of which can be seen at the foot of Little Dunagoil. Excavations took place at Little Dunagoil between 1958 and 1961, under the direction of Dorothy Marshall.
