Rollcurling was introduced to Rothesay in the summer of 1964 with two rinks being set up on the Esplanade near Children’s Corner.  It is like ice curling but the full sized stones are fitted with ball bearings enabling the stones to glide over the hard rink in much the same way as over ice.  This photo shows the inaugural match being played on the 24 September between members of Rangers and Morton football clubs.  (Think this might have meant supporters clubs.)
