We are used to looking over to Ardyne and seeing the shore base of the fish farm but previously this facility was used as a site for the building of oil production platforms. It was in operation from 1974 until 1978 and only three concrete gravity production platforms were built though one of the , Cormorant Alpha was the largest floating object built at that time.
