Object: Flint Scraper
Date: Neolithic
Description: Flint scraper from the Neolithic burial cairn at Glecknabae. 35mm long by 35wide narrowing
to 15mm.
Origin: In 1903 Professor Thomas H Bryce undertook explorations of all the known tumuli on the island
of Bute. One of the sites he visited was the cairn at Glecknabae. He found that the cairn had been
constructed over an earlier shell midden. Within the cairn he found two chambers. Finds included pottery
and this flint scraper. P.S.A.S vol 38.
