Object: Bute Bus Staff

Date: 20th century

Description : Transport services on the island had originated with horse drawn trams followed by the very popular electric trams but these were supplanted by the more flexible buses and the last tram ran on the 30 September 1936.  In the 1960s Western SMT who operated the buses on Bute had an office at 2 West Princes Street and this photograph of the staff is taken outside this office.  Round Bute tours and other to Dunagoil were popular, just as the open top tours are today.  Any names would be appreciated.  (Groups)
