Object: Arrowhead
Date: Neolithic
Description: A very finely-made flint arrowhead measuring 45mm x 22mm. It was found during excavations at a Neolithic Burial Cairn at Hilton Farm.
Origin: Between 1973 and 1976, Dorothy Marshall excavated the burial site at Hilton. There were several phases to this site. Postholes suggested an occupation site over which a cairn was constructed. A second, larger, cairn overlaid this and then a Bronze Age cist was inserted. A full account can be found in Transaction of the B.N.H.S. Vol XX
