In December 2022 we concluded our search in Cnocnicoll Wood, which lies across the road from the north end of Mount Stuart. We obtained good trail camera video clips of two red squirrels at one of the feeders, but nothing from the second feeder. Overall, it was a great result.

We also removed the final feeder from Little Grenach wood, close to the shore of Loch Fad. After weeks of no food being taken from the feeder, week five yielded video clips of one red squirrel. It was a good illustration of how much patience and determination it can take to find wildlife.

Our feeders have now been cleaned, restocked and redeployed in the grounds of Mount Stuart. We will report the very latest evidence at our Red Squirrel Project public meeting in the Museum on Tuesday 10 January (7:30pm start).
