This photo shows that Kilchattan Bay has not changed much over the years. The church is now a private house and there only remains one shop cum post office though at one time the village a good variety of shops with some of the Rothesay
Businesses, including Muir the baker and McIntyre, the butcher having branches there. In 1930 there was a butcher, a baker, five confectioner and fruit shops, three grocers, a newsagent, a shoemaker and a tearoom. (P03-0784, A3.253)
